

Eliminate cluttered backgrounds and unwanted details by getting in close to your subject.
With a point and shoot, simply zoom in or move closer to your subject.
If you have interchangeable lenses, try your 50mm. With your 50mm lens, you'll get great depth of field, too, so you can really play around with the focal point. This way you can direct your viewers' eyes to the part of your image to which you want them to pay the most attention.
